WHO IS REALLY MAKING THE BIG DECISIONS ABOUT METRO WEST?

It has been obvious for several years now that the big decisions on the routes and nodes of major new public transport infrastructure are not being made by the Premier the Cabinet alone. The Premiers’ puppet masters were working out what decisions would maximise the profit potential for their corporations and then leave it to “their Premier” to execute their “riding instructions”;

+ the Property Council of Australia (NSW),
+ Urban Task Force,
+ Urban Design Institute of Australia,
+ Committee for Sydney,
+ lobbyist Michael Photios of PremierState,
+ Liberal Party heavyweights like Tony Shepherd and Barry O’Farrell

Property developers were scouring North Strathfield 18-24 months ago to secure options to buy property in expectation that it would be on the Metro West route. They probably had inside information on where there would be the most profitable areas to build medium and high density housing.

Investment decisions about spending tax payers money has been based on profit maximising for the private sector, not delivering the optimum solution to meet the transport needs of residents and tax payers of greater Sydney

GLADYS BEREJIKLIAN AND ANDREW CONSTANCE ARE PROBABLY WAITING FOR THEIR PUPPET MASTERS TO TELL HIM WHERE THE STATIONS WILL BE ON THE METRO WEST ROUTE.
