To achieve faster intercity services:

• Purchase of new trains capable of running at speeds up to 200kms per hour, preferably “tilt trains.”
• Improve the alignment of the existing line.
• Provide additional tracks where possible.
• Progressively upgrade the tracks for 200km per hour running.
